Thoughts for the day: Memorable songs

From time immemorial till now, there have been many many songs. Some that brings laughter, some that brings tears, some that brings boredom, some that fills up life, some that makes people go high, some that makes people down, some bring good memories, some bring old memories, some bring sad memories.

There are many songs, and they represent our life like how the soundtracks fill the world of movies. We could put different songs into different sections of our lives.

And I stumbled upon this song that brings memories of a long time ago as well a very nostalgic feeling. It is a song that had been resung many times, by many singers. It won't really die... Although there will be those who hate this song, but I believe this is a classic song that would enter "Evergreen", at least to me.

Thoughts for the day: Traffic sucks

The best time to drive around KL is when it's jammed. Shows how much humans can be selfish and a bastard.

After observing the traffic, this much I can firmly conclude!!!

And this is very true. So, where does traffic jam starts? That'll be a mystery.. or would it? Nah, it won't. Two possibilities... Traffic light sucks and bottlenecks -- both leading to traffic jams due to the non-ethical drivers. How so? Go figure yourself... Or for once, drive when it's jammed. If you're one of them, I bet you'll disagree with me.

The best thing is, even police do the queue cutting like nobody business:--


Look at the opportunity this stupid police can get into the lane. BUT NO!! He went ahead... till the split road -- one to housing estate, one to flyover.


AND COMMITS THE SIN OF CUTTING QUEUE!!!!
So, if the authorities even do that... why would those inconsiderate normal citizens even queue up... Morality of humans are decreasing.. or is it just their selfishness are increasing....

Ever been asked the question, "ID please." to show your verification that you are above the age limit. Or "You 18?"

I can get pissed off at people asking me "are you 18" to enter a 18+ place, ESPECIALLY THE FREAKING GSC CINEMA.

Ever wondered when you will hear God's words? Ever wondered if you'll ever see God? Ever even wondered if you will receive something from God?

I don't know what to say... but I have received something from this... God, everyone mentions.

It came to me when I am most depressed.

It came to me when the sky is blessing the Earth with pure water.

It came to me when I was stepping on God's territories.

Maybe I should be aware of God's ever presence and that God looks over to us. I do not understand why God gave me this. Why would he?

Assignment 1 2009 Semester 1

This assignment is worth 10% of your assessment for this unit. The final assignment is due with your tutor by 5pm on 17 April. This is a group assignment where groups of one, two or three are acceptable. Only students whose names are shown on the assignment will receive marks for the submission.

A large university in the eastern suburbs has an eleven story humanities building. Currently, there are two lifts, 3 stairways and a narrow escalator to facilitate vertical transport within the building. Assume (estimate) reasonable values for the number of people that can be transported within the building, and travel times by each of these methods. Assume that the maximum number of people trying to go up one floor at peak times is 250. Assume that currently 80% use the escalators, 15% use the stairs and the remainder use the lift.

There is a proposal to remove the escalators and the current lifts. New lifts to be installed will have a 50% larger capacity, and 25% faster travel time. Four new lifts are proposed. Under the new system, assume that 25% of the people will use the stairs.

Assume that the building is used 200 days per year for 10 hours per day. The average number of people travelling one floor each hour can be assumed to be 350 (of which 250 travel at peak times). The new lifts are expected to cost $40 million and last five years without significant further costs. This is based on $9 million per new lift, and the remainder for removal of the escalators. Assume a discount rate of 4%.

Your task is to advise the facilities manager about the likely success of this proposal. Are enough new lifts proposed to at least obtain better travel times under the proposal? If not, how many more lifts are required? With enough new lifts for superior travel time, what value is implied for the travel time of a person in the building?

1. Provide a brief specification for your model which includes; an introduction, assumptions, aims, limitations, concept diagram, rules table, user manual and intended output reports (around three pages).

2. Some of the given parameters are not known with certainty. Provide a sensitivity report and a spider chart showing the effect of uncertainty (around one page).

3. Provide a brief report in executive summary format highlighting your specific results and recommendations (around one page).

So.. the question:

What is this Gonbei? Where is it? Can eat de ar?

• Ok.. Probably those of you who loves eating in Jogoya knows of this other big big restaurant opposite Jogoya.

• Those who had never been/heard of Jogoya, well... There's two ridiculously enormous Japanese Restaurants at Starhill.

Conclusion: A treat you must give yourself and your family! Food's great! Quantity's big! Quality's better! Better choice for "not-big" eaters instead of Jogoya! Enjoy people!!!

*Update* About the price, I'll say average 100 bucks, there are food that are 80 bucks, and also food that are 250 bucks. That kind of range. You pay for the better quality of food!!!

So... I am pregnant... Ya.. sad, ain't it? Sigh... Now I look like that:

Ya... maybe I am pregnant... Time to take the test!!!
